First Demo Launch!


I am extremely excited to officially launch the first demo/proof of concept for this game!

As stated in the game description, this game was conceptualized and created over the course of a week for a private game jam, and I've had so much fun! This was not just my first solo jam, this was my first solo game, which came with a whole bunch of pros and cons!

The main pro was that my workflow was very smooth and it was easy to get stuff done as I wasn't relying on others for art assets or code, and could do everything at my own pace!

The main con was that I couldn't rely on others, say a more talented artist or a fellow programmer to help shoulder the work load. But I gave it my best!

On to the actual game! While this game is by no means a new concept or anything ground breaking, it is for me! During the development of this game I learned so many new things as I tackled the implementation of mechanics I've never done previously! Namely random level generation and enemy spawners.

Aside from this I gave the art my all. I may not be the best artist out there, but I still wanted to give my best attempt at making this game look nice and appealing. Doing shading for the detalied world tiles, and juicy death animations took a lot of work, but I'm happy with how it all turned out. Now I am closer to mastering the art of Pixel Art xD

To wrap things up I would like to say this: While the game as it is now is more or less how I envisioned it when I started development, I want to keep going and pushing the limits! During the week of development I kept coming up with new ideas, both gameplay mechanics wise AND art wise that I would love to implement but couldn't get around to during the 1 week time period of the jam. So now that its over I want to take it further! Make the game juicier and add more features!
